Thanks to our vendor CloudFlare for handling the DNS/CDN outages very well. It was a great customer support effort.

We survived the infamous Amazon Web Services Outage. Our servers are hosted in 1C and 1D Availability Zones in US East - N. Virginia Region, so our customers didn’t have any downtime during the outage.

April 18th is the deadline for submitting your taxes. From today until April 18th, we will extend and speed up the support efforts. As usual, feel free to send an email or call us for support.

We will keep the signup option open on the website and mobile apps, however please be advised that if you signed up on Apr 16th(Saturday) or Apr 17th (Sunday), our tax professionals might not complete your taxes and will be notifying you to file for extension on a case by case basis.

It gives utmost fulfillment when you discover that the products you created are making a positive impact on the society. Here is our story about a person who was recently disabled and looking for help in getting his taxes done.

One of our customers, Michael lives in So Cal. He recently became disabled and bed ridden. He can neither go out to visit a tax preparer's office nor does he have access to computer to get his taxes done. All he has is a loaner phone with internet access. With our Sanetax app which is available on android, iphone he took pictures of W2s and requested to have a tax professional assigned. Within a few minutes of his request, we connected him with one of our network tax agents . Michael also had a special request to have him called instead of emailing; our network tax professional is going to honor that as well.

I personally talked to Michael on the phone and it was inspiring to listen how useful our service is to him. This experience reinforced our confidence and purpose in starting this service. I am glad that Sanetax could be of help when he needed it. Michael was impressed by our service and volunteered to give us a testimonial - so watch out for another post with more details. April 18th is the last date to file your 2010 taxes. If you haven't started the process, it is the time to do it. Get started by registering yourself.

If you need to file an extension, you can go-ahead and request your assigned tax agent to do so. It is free and quick.

We are excited to announce that Sanetax Android app has gone through the Amazon app review and now it is live. You can download it here.

Thanks to all the Tax Agents and Customers who have used the service so far. We are excited to change the pricing from $2 per customer to $0 per customer - Yes! it is free for both Tax Payers and Tax Professionals as well. Following are the details.


- $0 per customer (used to be $2 per customer)
- No SMS service by default - however it is still available as a premium service. Please contact support@sanetax.com if you like to enable it for you. It is the most expensive feature with respect to our operating costs. So by disabling SMS service we could offer you free service.
- Unlimited customers, Unlimited storage(uploads), and Unlimited technical support.
- We get paid only if you use optional invoicing available within the CRM system.

We are excited to announce that Android app is available from the Android Market. We have put in lot of energy and effort to make this app to work fast and sleek.

We made sure we cover all the Android versions from 1.6 and above. So if you have any android version from 1.6 to 2.3(current) app should still work just fine. App is also independent of device display density - that means you can use the app from smaller Android phones to the latest hi-res Android phones.

We have submitted iPhone app to Apple for approval today. Pretty exciting to see app becoming possible from the concept to the final product. It came out really well and polished, hope you like it.

As you are aware of, mobile apps are essential to our service - from capturing tax documents to receiving updates from tax agents. We have also included pdf preview option so that tax payers can preview the prepared taxes before giving a go to tax agent.

Watch out for our announcement on the availability of the iPhone application. Till then, following are some of the screenshots.

Excited to announce that production version just went live. If you are a Tax Agent, please go-ahead and signup for free and give it a whirl. Except invoicing and mobile apps, everything else should be working. Within few days we are expected to complete mobile apps and get the payment system setup.

Let me take this opportunity to introduce much awaited two way SMS feature. For illustration purposes, I have included an iphone screenshot but any mobile phone with SMS enabled should work just fine.

As shown in the picture below:

1. Customer registers his mobile phone number by sending a 4 digit code (instructions are generated by a setup wizard once they login to the site). This is a security check so that wrong phone number is not registered in the system. If customer doesn't have access to the computer, Tax Agents can set this up.

2. Customer starts communicating from their mobile phone. Same message appears under Messages tab.

3. Tax Agent replies back through the Sanetax website. Reply is delivered to customer as an SMS.

Happy and excited to announce that Sanetax.com is released today with few restrictions. The goal of toady's release is to make sure anyone who has been informed and trying to see how the service works, this is a good hands-on experience. We are still finalizing the build which includes mobile apps, SMS communication, Tax Agent listing/selection and integrated invoicing system.
